AEO & GEO

Be the answer when your customers ask AI

More of your customers now start with a question to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity or Google's AI Overviews. AI search optimization (AEO, GEO or LLMO, depending on who you ask) makes your business the source those systems cite and recommend.

The short version

AI search doesn't replace SEO. It's built on top of it. AI assistants pull from pages that are crawlable, well structured and trusted, and they lean on what the rest of the web says about you. Strong SEO gets you in the door; AEO and GEO are what get you quoted.

The work is concrete: structured data and schema, AEO FAQs and answer-first landing pages, an llms.txt file, citations from the sources AI tools trust, and pages that render without JavaScript. Many AI crawlers don't run scripts, so a site that only appears in the browser can look empty to them.

This is a young field, and anyone promising guaranteed ChatGPT placements is guessing. What I can do is apply what's measurable: track how often you're mentioned and cited for the prompts that matter, fix the gaps, and report honestly on what moves. I've worked with enterprise AI visibility platforms like Profound as well as lighter tools, so tracking fits your size and budget.

One goal, a lot of names.

The industry hasn't settled on a name yet. Whatever you call it, the job is the same: make sure AI assistants know your business, trust it, and recommend it when your customers ask.

Good questions

AEO & GEO questions.

What's the difference between SEO, AEO and GEO?

SEO earns rankings in traditional search results. AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) structures content so it's selected as a direct answer in featured snippets, voice results and AI Overviews. GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) focuses on being mentioned and cited by AI chat tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity. They overlap heavily, so I run them as one programme.

Can you guarantee my business will appear in ChatGPT?

No. AI answers vary by prompt, user and session. I can measure your share of mentions across a fixed set of prompts and work to improve it over time.

Do I still need traditional SEO?

Yes. AI systems lean heavily on search indexes and well-ranked, trusted pages. Neglecting SEO undermines AI visibility.

Should I block AI crawlers?

If you want to be recommended, usually not. Blocking search crawlers like OAI-SearchBot or PerplexityBot can remove you from their answers. Training crawlers like GPTBot are a separate decision we can make together.

Can you optimize my website for ChatGPT?

Yes. Optimizing for ChatGPT means making sure its search crawler can reach your pages, your content answers questions clearly, your structured data and business details are consistent, and trusted third-party sites mention you. The same work helps you appear in Claude results and Perplexity answers.

Why do no-JavaScript websites matter for AI search?

Many AI crawlers fetch the raw HTML and don't run JavaScript. If your content only appears after scripts run, they may see an almost empty page. Server-rendered or static sites, like this one, give AI bots the full content on the first request.
