Backlinks & Citations

Link building that earns relevant, editorial links

Outreach to real sites your customers read: industry publications, associations, suppliers, partners and local organisations.

What's included

What Link Building covers.

Scoped to your site and goals. Not every engagement needs every item, and the audit tells us which ones matter most.

01

Backlink & competitor audit

Where your links come from, where competitors get theirs, and the realistic gap between them.

02

Manual outreach

Researched, personal pitches to editors and site owners. No mass templates, no automated blasts.

03

Link placements & insertions

Contextual links in new articles, or added to relevant existing articles that already rank.

04

Unlinked mentions & broken links

Turning existing mentions into links, and replacing dead links on relevant sites with your better resource.

05

Disavow lists

Toxic link audits, with disavow files prepared, submitted and maintained when a profile needs cleaning up.

06

Link reporting

Every link logged with its page, anchor text, metrics and status, and reported monthly.

How I approach it

The honest version

I start with the links you're already owed: suppliers that list stockists, partners, associations you belong to, sponsorships, and press that mentioned you without linking. They're the easiest and most relevant links you'll ever get.

Then comes manual outreach for placements and insertions: personal, researched and capped, so every pitch is worth an editor's time. Volume-based link building is how sites end up with links they later need to disavow.

Good questions

Link Building FAQs.

Do you guarantee a number of links per month?

No. Guaranteed link counts push agencies toward low-quality placements. I report every link earned, with the page it sits on and why it matters.

Should I disavow links?

Only when it's warranted: a manual action, a negative SEO attack, or a history of paid or spammy links. Google ignores most junk links on its own. When a disavow file is needed, I build it from a full audit and keep it maintained.

What makes a good backlink?

Relevance, editorial placement and real traffic. A link from an Alberta industry association often beats one from a generic blog with a high "authority" score.
