Local SEO that gets you into the map pack and the phone ringing

For most Alberta businesses, the three results in Google Maps matter more than anything below them. I work on the signals that decide who shows up: your profile, your reviews, your location pages and your citations.

What's included

What Local SEO covers.

Scoped to your site and goals. Not every engagement needs every item, and the audit tells us which ones matter most.

01

Google Business Profile

Categories, services, products, attributes, photos and posts, set up the way Google actually uses them.

02

Location & service-area pages

Genuinely useful pages for each area you serve. No copy-paste doorway pages.

03

Review strategy

A simple, policy-compliant system for asking for reviews and responding to them.

04

Citations & NAP consistency

Your name, address and phone consistent across the directories that matter in Canada.

05

Grid rank tracking

Map visibility measured across your whole service area, not just from one point.

06

Local links

Chambers, associations, sponsorships and local press that build real local authority.

How I approach it

The honest version

Google has said for years that local rankings come down to relevance, distance and prominence. You can't move your building, so the work focuses on relevance (how clearly you match the search) and prominence (reviews, links and mentions).

Service-area businesses like trades, cleaners and mobile services have extra rules. I'll make sure your profile follows Google's guidelines, because suspensions are painful to undo.

Good questions

Local SEO FAQs.

Can I rank in a town where I don't have an office?

In organic results, yes, with a strong and genuinely useful page for that area. In the map pack it's harder, because distance from the searcher matters. I'll be honest about what's realistic.

Should I buy reviews or filter who gets asked?

No. Both break Google's policies and can get reviews removed or your profile suspended. A steady, honest ask after every job works better.

How long does local SEO take?

Profile and on-page fixes often show movement within one to three months. Competitive categories in Calgary or Edmonton take longer.
